Public Life is an arena where players who have a strong mind and personality are able to play the field and ensure that the common man’s best interest is always kept at top priority. I am confident that with training like this I will be able to fuel my aspirations as most importantly I will be able to understand the current system that is in place and how it works. Through this program, I want to give back to the community. I want to build a system that represents the diversity of different religions different ages, rich, poor, LGBTQ, even the opposing political parties can live next to each other and enjoy the community. To bring everyone together. It’s about creating an awareness of ‘CARE’ amongst the community. And to inspire many more to join such programs. Just looking around and seeing the diversity, and different ages and yet I want the community to live in the same harmony. The various topics that will be taught and explained during the program will be learnings that I will absorb, and most importantly convey back to the community. The most important learning that I want to take away from is to understand the system and evoke the interest of Public service in my fellow citizens and educating them on the complexities and dynamics that is involved in ward management and as a group, we can improve our city. This will enable me to encourage more people to join the pool of good civic leaders who will actively engage in ward level management and administration of the city to improve its governance. Also, with the help of various mediums such as digital platforms and physical meetups I will be able to get an understanding of how the ward currently functions and also I can obtain inputs from other fellow passionate crusaders for each ward’s improvement.

My lineage from coming from a family that has been actively involved in the political landscape and the Indian administrative landscape for over 40 years I truly aspire to be a representative of the citizens in the interactions with the political leadership of the city, to ensure that our leaders are not only lost in the political games but do focus on governance practices.

Most importantly I am equipped and learned to use the digital medium as a mode of communication to ensure that all members of the ward are engaged and rightfully informed about their entitlements, and to ensure that they have a voice to speak about corruption that prevails amongst the various vendors that are contracted by the BBMP.
In Additions to the multiple issues that I would like to address, such as the Garbage management, Water Management etc, the most pressing one is the illegal constructions of residential apartments/complexes and commercial buildings that are taking place in and around the ward. Multiple buildings are deviating from the BBMP sanctioned plan which is resulting is adding more sewage to our drains which are not equipped to handle such loads. The dimensions of this illegal construction issue are multi-fold. As our drains are getting blocked. More water consumption and illegal electricity tapping. And with more residents and commercial activity, there is more garbage being generated and unsegregated garbage and RWA are not allocating spaces within their premises for segregation. I plan to change this by creating a strong and powerful awareness in the Ward, which will warn off new builders. Through our current activities, we are seeing progress take place. The community is now more receptive to working together, and hence as a ward, we can set stricter rules. I also want to be a stronger liaison between the communities and the BBMP team. So we can work hand in hand to ensure that the quality of life for the residents is enhanced, and they can live in the spirit of safety.
